Sunset Family session at The McNay for the C Family

Oh… how I love a good family / maternity session!! I live for weddings… but would love to add more family and maternity sessions to my 2018 calendar! They are sooo much fun!!

Sunset Family Session at the McNay in San Antonio, TX

After having to reschedule to due rain (and I am so glad we did…because the weather was amazing) we were finally able to have this family session at The McNay. We decide to use the inside grounds for most of the session- and it turned out to be AMAZING!! I absolutely love the McNay!

Here are a few of my favorite!

Those gorgeous blue eyes! This little two year old kept us all on our toes…!

This family is just gorgeous! Family snuggled up with each other sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio

One of the things I love about the McNay are the many options for photographs. We hung out on the outside grounds for about 30 minutes before heading inside. We were able to grab a few photos from a few different spots during this time.

The Family

This sweet family moved to the San Antonio area a few years ago— and absolutely love it here! They were so laid back and was up for pretty much anything!

Its easy to get overwhelmed for your family session— but the biggest advice I can give you is: let you chid/children be themselves! These are always my clients (and mine) favorite images- and it really makes for a more relaxed session! Soon to be mom snuggles up with her husband for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio Mom snuggles up with her son for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio Mom, Dad and son snuggles up on the steps for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio Dad, Mom and son snuggle up on the steps for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio

This is towards the end of the session— I know I was slowly losing this little cuties attentions span- lol and I’m sure by this time– he was getting pretty bored ha! Mom Dad and son walking in the courtyard for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio

If you are ever wondering how most family sessions go– with little ones– this one photo sums it up! He had my laughing so hard by the end of this session!! Funny picture of child not wanting to walk for a picture for a sunset family session at the McNay in San Antonio

I love that Emily wanted to keep this wedding sweet and simple. We had so much time for portraits— and I love that!! Nothing was rushed and there was no real timeline. We spent about an hour or so walking around The Pearl for their portraits… and had so much fun!

Urban Engagement session at The Pearl for Rebecca + Kyle

Rebecca and Kyle’s fairytale began when they met 8 years ago while working for NASA. Kyle proposed to Rebecca while on a weekend getaway to Old Montreal. I love so many images from their fall engagement session at the Pearl… it was so hard to pick which ones to blog!

The Proposal in Old Montreal

While staying In Old Montreal for a weekend….  staying in a beautiful boutique hotel on the water. Rebecca and Kyle had just got back from dinner. They went out on the balcony for some drinks, Kyle had gone back inside, when Rebecca turned around he was on one knee with the ring.

A beautiful bond

Rebecca + Kyle have been together for 8 beautiful years. They’ve spent some of their relationship having to live apart… due to their jobs. Kyle has said, “She is the brightest and happiest part of my life. She complements my personality so well it’s hard to believe sometimes. There is no one else I could even tolerate to be around every day and I get to look forward to every moment with her”. These two share a deep and special bond– and I am so happy for them! I know their wedding is going to be filled so much love and joy!

Because I love this image in color and black and white… I’m posting both 🙂

If you’ve been following me.. you know I love light. If its there… I’ll find it 😉

The Session

When we started planning Rebecca + Kyle’s engagement session… they knew they did not want anything in a field. I was so happy to switch up locations! I love fields — but I was ready to switch things up! I absolutely love the Pearl area…and knew this would be a perfect location for their session.

On another note… Doesn’t Rebecca have the most amazing blue eyes?!!

I loved how they coordinated their outfits!

Sunset Engagement Session in a Field for Adrianna and Christopher

The fairytale began for Adrianna and Christopher the day they met online. Christopher wrote another chapter in that fairytale when he proposed on a September day during a visit to Fredericksburg. I fell in love with their engagement photos instantly and can’t wait for their wedding day!

Proposing at the Top of Enchanted Rock

He popped the question at the top of Enchanted Rock, appropriately named for such a romantic event. Seeing Christopher pull out a ring while taking in the view took Adrianna by complete surprise. She very quickly and emphatically said, “Yes!” The couple has said that Fredericksburg is one of their favorite places to visit and now they’ve added one more reason why they love it there. They also have a wonderful, new memory of that location remember the start of their engagement in all their years together to come.

Mutual Love for Education and Date Nights in San Antonio

Even though they lived in San Antonio, one of the largest cities in the U.S., they lived down the street from each other for an entire year before they even met. Education is important to both Adrianna and Christopher and, when they finish graduate school, they will have an impressive six degrees between them. While Christopher admires Adrianna’s open-mindedness and kind spirit, Adrianna appreciates Christopher’s beautiful smile and self-titled funniest man in the room moniker.

For date nights, they love trying new and interesting restaurants and admit they love going to the movies a little too much! When they really want to get away from it all they enjoy traveling to The Cove, The Pearl, pretty much any state park, and, of course, Fredericksburg. Tbilisi, Georgia is a dream location for the couple to travel to together since Christopher taught there for several months and wants to share this amazing location with Adrianna some day.

Gorgeous Natural Lighting for Sunset Engagement

Since the couple loves the outdoors, we held their engagement photos session at a beautiful location with great lighting. With the perfect backdrop provided by Mother Nature, I was able to capture the full extent of Adrianna and Christopher’s love for one another along with their playful nature. Posing in an open field, amongst the trees, and along the water, Adrianna and Christopher were able to help me preserve some light-hearted and romantic moments that are uniquely them.

Looking ahead to Adrianna and Christopher’s wedding day, I am excited and honored to help them write yet another chapter in the love story as they become husband and wife.
